In March 2026, Shaff will embark on his most ambitious endeavour: diving across the Maldivian archipelago.
The “ACROSS MALDIVES” dive event, organized by the non-profit Ocean Six Fifty, is set to inspire by showcasing the breathtaking beauty and diversity of their underwater world. The event will gather data on how our natural environment is being affected by the climate crisis and is a call for Maldivians to push their boundaries, fostering a deeper connection with their natural ecosystem, motivating them to protect and preserve it for future generations.
This “in-depth” exploration not only highlights the importance of marine conservation but also empowers locals to become ambassadors for their natural heritage.
Ocean 6|50 was a landmark diving event aimed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Tourism and diving in the Maldives. The event from 25th to 27th February 2022, planned since 2018 by Shaff, also served as a human endurance challenge.
The event was also to raise awareness and advocate about the damaging effects of ocean plastic pollution, climate change, and the marine ecosystem, bringing together a diverse group of local and international diving professionals, marine scientists, and environmental activists. A total of 178 divers participated in the event to show their support for the cause.
